“We went at 9.00am and we were fortunate to be able to see Mt Etna clearly at times. Towards the end of the tour the clouds started to roll in and visibility was not so good. The group was very large so it was difficult to hear everything. I went for the view and to take photos more than to hear the guide. So people did not even take the cable car up and so that did, did not join the walking tour. I don’t understand why you would not do the whole tour. Overall it was very good”

“The practical side of the hike and the tour guide’s (Fabio) knowledge & attitude were excellent but the tour logistics were awful. After booking, we received a WhatsApp message with all the details and arrived early (after a very long journey). We were then told there wasn’t enough space with the tour company (Ashàra) so they had outsourced our booking to another company (Aitne) for a later tour. When we tried to discuss this with Aitne, they said it was”wasn’t their problem” as we hadn’t booked directly with them.”

“Due to the recent eruptions, it was unfortunately forbidden to hike to the summit crater. It was offered to us to get a reduced guided tour instead. The peak craters could still be observed from a save distance. Afterwards the tour continued along multiple older and smaller craters as well as lava caves downhill to the start point. I can absolutely recommend the tour. The guide was very friendly, professional and provided multiple historical and geological information and about local flora and fauna. The view during the whole tour was absolutely stunning and a memory which we will not forget.”
